New Man

Today's scripture reading was based on Ephesians 4:22-24, which many are familiar with:

"That you put off, concerning your former conduct,

the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,

and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

and that you put on the new man which was created according to God,

in true righteousness and holiness."

As in the past, I have occasionally shared the scripture from the First Nations Version - An Indigenous Translation of the New Testament. The First Nations version brings a descriptive light to the scripture that relates more to Native American believers. I pray it enlightens this scripture for you, too.

"Take off that worn-out and stained outfit of your past life

with its selfish desires and worthless ways of thinking.

It no longer represents who you are.

You are now true human beings, with a new way of seeing and thinking.

Put on the regalia of your new life.

For you have been made new,

created again to look like the one who made you,

standing in a good way and walking a true and sacred path."

Believer, may you sit in the presence of God and experience the new man today and walk in the righteousness and holiness He created you to be.

God's blessings and peace ~
